- We learned of the sad death of Bob Ware. Bob was a good friend and major contributor to the club and was always will to help club members with his extensive knowledge and workshop skills. I am still hoping to find out about funeral arrangements.
- A need for additional expenditure on the gang mower was identified. This kit is key to maintaining the full size runway and will benefit from a major overhaul of bearings and blades. Ron Gray is on the case.
- Ron is also working hard on getting the new, and splendid, hut up to the amenity level we signed off to. He has installed the security camera and is awaiting parts to refit the toilet. Meanwhile Chris and Mark are working on the solar powered charging facilities.
- Also from Ron were plans for the next stages. This includes a covered shelter/gazebo in front of the hut to provide shelter from rain and sun. Beyond that plans are afoot for concrete runway repairs, plus a cunning plan being developed with our landlord to identify a strip of land to add an, almost, North/South grass runway flyable from ‘Rougham Corner’.
- The next Wacky Combat session will be combined with our next scheduled Club Meeting on Wednesday 21 August (day adjusted to avoid the bank holiday). I will publish additional information when I have got it.
