F3A Resume Competitions at Knettishall 18 June 2022
I’m not sure that they didn’t resume competitions ‘behind closed doors’ last year…but I like the upbeat message, and it’s in keeping with the Fantasy Island vibe we are fed daily.
Back in reality. This was an event organised, managed and led by Peter Jenkins, as part of the circuit of competitions enjoyed by F3A flyers. Terrific company; excellent catering; incredible flying skills, shame about the weather. A couple of days before we had been basking in extraordinary heat. On the day of the event it was extraordinarily cold and windy, wet in parts.
Still, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and thanked our club for allowing them the use of Knettishall for the day. Worth it for the bacon butties alone!
Peter has prepared a report for the Bury Free Press, and will be passing a more detailed and colourful report on to me for inclusion on this site.
Hopefully this handful of photographs taken by Ron Gray, with a very fancy telephoto lens, will give you a taster of the day and keep your pecker up until Peter’s report can be published.
