Ian McDowell
You will all now be aware of the death of Ian McDowell on the morning of the 30th October 2024. Vic sent this message to all members:
Gents,
It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Ian passed away yesterday morning at St Nicholas Hospice. Ian was a keen modeller who specialised in small electric models, some of which were built to a very high standard that most can only aspire to! He served on the Committee as the Webmaster and it was through his determination that the website grew from a few, rather boring pages to the far more colourful, vibrant and interactive site that it is today.
During the recent new hut installation and modifications, Ian’s health precluded any ‘heavy-lifting’. Never-the-less, he pitched-in and ensured a steady stream of snacks and ‘banter’ was provided for all the ‘beavers’!
Ian, you will be missed. Our thoughts go to his family at this sad time.
